Since forming just a few years ago, the young London-based group Fanfarlo has made inroads through the well-saturated indie rock scene through their own self-will and promotion. By initially offering a download of their debut, Reservoir, for a mere $1 and hand-created the album’s limited addition packaging, along with performing stellar live sets, complemented by strings, mandolin, and other vintage instruments, Fanfarlo has quickly become a recognized name and sought-after band.
Leading off Day 1 of KEXP’s broadcast from Gibson Showroom in Austin during SXSW, the five members of Fanfarlo -- Simon Balthazar, Cathy Lucas, Justin Finch, Leon Beckenham, and Amos Memon -- played their lushly romantic songs for a room of KEXP listeners.
