Swedish punk-poppers Love Is All spearheads this week’s eclectic new releases with their third album, Two Thousand and Ten Injuries. After finishing their spring 2009 tour and finding themselves record deal-less, the button-cute quintet decided to take the no pressure, fun-route of making music. Within months of optional band practice and trading songs through e-mail, the crew united at last to record the new, New Wave bop album entirely on an old 24-track analog tape machine (catch them at the High Dive w/ Princeton 4/14). London’s Archie Bronson Outfit may have lost their illuminated plastic goose that infamously shared their stage (a show-goer actually stole it), but the trio still has their dignified groove. Their third album, Coconut, produced by DFA Record’s Tim Goldsworthy (LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture and Hot Chip) still sports the acid rockers tripped out loops and rapturous intensity, physically portrayed in their new “Shark’s Tooth” video (song featured on KEXP’s Song of the Day).
Electro duo Goldfrapp, also celebrated in London with their long-awaited fifth album, Head First. The two ditched their latest folk experiment (as heard on Seventh Tree) and returned to the almighty synth, a smart move considering it landed them two dance awards (2003 ASCAP/PRS Awards and Ivor Novello Awards), and several nominations including the BRIT Awards and the Grammy’s. The epitome of the perfect indie couple, She & Him, is back with their second album, Volume 2. Sunshine folk duo Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward take a risk with more ambitious multi-tracked vocals and lush upbeat rhythms (don’t miss them at Sasquatch Music Festival 5/31). Other worth mentioning new records are Bright Eyes & Nina Dinova’s vinyl re-release of One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels with four new songs, Bill Callahan’s 2-LP Rough Traveling for a Rare Thing, Serena-Maneesh’s S-M 2: Abyss in B Minor and Weakerthans Live at the Burton Cummings Theater.
If all this doesn’t satisfy your music hunger, check out Largehearted Boy’s list for a full list of new releases before heading out to your local music shop.

Also, Pomplamoose! Their “Tribute to Famous People” is pretty great (especially “Telephone,” “Single Ladies,” “Makin’ Out,” and “Beat It”).
