It’s going to be another awesome night of local music this Saturday at The Sunset Tavern in Ballard, with Audioasis’s resident DJ Hannah Levin hosting special musical guests Ravenna Woods, World’s Greatest Ghosts and Little Cuts! Each month, Audioasis chooses one local charity as the beneficiary for all proceeds to go to. This month, Artist Trust is spotlighted. Artist Trust invests in creativity one artist at a time. Since 1986 Artist Trust has distributed over seven million dollars in grants, resources and career training to thousands of our state’s most promising and interesting musicians, writers, performers, and artists working across all disciplines. Does creativity matter to you? Get involved.
Ravenna Woods (9:30PM) is a local trio that have just released their first full length Demons & Lakes. Noted by several local piblications as a band to watch in 2010, check out the video for the track “Ghosts” above.
World’s Greatest Ghosts (10:30PM) are a synth-pop-rock quintet based in Portland that fall somewhere in the spectrum of up-tempo Fruit Bats and Wolf Parade but with a little more synthesizer. They also seem to be quite fond of Dungeon and Dragons, Nintendo, and medieval fairy tales.
Little Cuts (11:30PM) is Seattle All-Star rock at it’s finest, consisting of former Cops bassist Drew (Droo) Church along with Dave Hernandez of The Shins fame.
As always, doors open at 8:30pm and the show begins at 9:30pm sharp! No kids allowed as The Sunset is 21+ and tickets can be found at Brown Paper Tickets.
Net proceeds benefit Artist Trust and major funding for Audioasis comes from New Belgium Brewing Company. Additional support for Audioasis comes from the City of Seattle: Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, Washington State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
