Title Tracks is the project of John Davis, the Washington D.C. songwriter, formerly part of Q and not U and Georgie James. As Title Tracks, Davis is free to pursue his love for pop music of the 50′s through 70′s, going so far as to perform nearly all instruments on his debut, It Was Easy. As a touring band, though, Title Tracks consists of Davis on vocals and guitar, Nick Anderson also on guitar, Michael Cotterman on bass, and Andrew Black on drums. Together, they carry the torch for energetic power pop and on the stage of Gibson Showroom in Austin during KEXP’s live broadcast from SXSW, they blew through a set of catchy songs, both original and covers of older favorites, like the Mersey Beats’ “I Stand Accused,” Otis Redding’s “Security,” and 20/20′s “Remember the Lightning.” Check out several videos from this super-fun set:
