For 25 years and running, The Wedding Present remains one of the best breakup bands to date. Since 1985, songwriter David Gedge has shredded his fingers and yowled through hundreds of anthems for the lovestruck, lovelorn, and lovelost, including eighteen UK Top 40 hit singles, eight full-length albums, and a bunch of live albums, singles comps, and other various collections. While the band is writing new songs for their followup to 2008′s El Rey, they’ve also been touring on the 21st anniversary of their second studio album, Bizarro. In studio at KEXP, Gedge along with bassist Terry de Castro, guitarist Graeme Ramsay, and drummer Charles Layton, performed several songs from that career highlight and two brand new songs.
