Iceland’s volcanic disruption couldn’t delay the inevitable return of the Cardiff collective Los Campesinos! to KEXP. The eight touring members, who were earlier forced to cancel and reschedule several appearances in the US, finally made it to Seattle and crammed in our studio for an energetic set of danceable post-punk. While singer Gareth doled out his playful yet biting lyrics as if he were reading a novel, the rest of the band ran through four songs from their new album, Romance Is Boring, alternating between furious guitar pop and orchestral beauty.
