Montreal band Plants and Animals recently stopped by the KEXP studio while touring behind La La Land, the follow up to their Juno and Polaris Prize nominated debut LP, Parc Avenue. The new songs, a bit heavier and darker, combine elements of prog, jam, and 70′s classic rock into a dynamic mix that is far greater than the sum if its parts -- just as the two guitarists, Warren Spicer and Nic Basque, and drummer Matthew Woodley create a sound larger than the three band members ought to.
