More than just Toronto’s answer to SXSW, the North by Northeast Music & Film Festival and Conference has showcased the best of Canada’s new music and independent film for the past 16 years. All this week, music fans and media industry types alike with gather as NXNE rolls out a series of showcases featuring over 650 local, national and international artists. Among the acts this year are Iggy & The Stooges, The Raveonettes, Japandroids, X, Mudhoney, Les Savy Fav, Man... or Astroman?, Cold Cave, De La Soul, Surfer Blood, Wavves, Sloan, and many others.
