Since they first appeared live on KEXP back in 2006 (back when they were too young to walk into clubs unsupervised!), Tokyo Police Club have been frequent guests at the station, bringing their punchy indie rock to our studio and our broadcasts from CMJ and Bumbershoot. This time, following up their recent release, Champ, the four friends-since-childhood turn down the high energy kicks just for this session and perform a couple of new songs, one older favorite, and one cover totally unplugged. That cover? One of Cheryl Waters’ other favorite band, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers! Check out this rare acoustic set now!

TPC are awesome! Hope they’ll make a great leap forward with their new album! Good luck folks!
That Tom Petty cover is great! Can’t stop listening. The other songs you guys played were good too.
These guys rock. Saw them in Denver. Don’t miss it if they come close to your town.
This sounds so fantastic!! These guys should do an acoustic album.
Singing and muscianship is amateurish....sounds like a jr. high school recital
Rick, thats the exact point, except not as negative as you make it sound
