  • Three years of Swedish folk troubadour and guitarist extraordinaire Jose Gonzalez‘s life will be shown to the massed in the documentary titled The Extraordinary Life of Jose Gonzalez. The film follows Gonzalez as he records his album In Our Nature. This documentary certainly looks off-beat. Check out the link to see the trailer.

  • Justin Vernon from Bon Iver has lent his vocals to another track, featuring on “An Iris” by fledgling band All Tiny Creatures, the new project from Collections of Colonies of Bees member Thomas Wincek. To hear the track, take a gander at this link.
  • Will Sheff, lead singer of Okkervil River, debuted two new songs at the Living Room venue in New York City and wouldn’t you know it people took the time to video this occurrence! Get your glimpse of the new songs here and below:

  • Vampire Weekend are finding themselves in the middle of a potential $2 million lawsuit. Ann Kirsten Kennis, the woman on the cover of the band’s latest album Contra, claims the band did not have her consent to use her likeness for the photo. The band and photographer disagree. More details to come once the case goes to court as well as at Pitchfork.
  • Beach House have a new iTunes Sessions EP features reworkings of 5 of the bands older songs plus a new song titled “White Moon.” Listen to it and let us know what you think.

  • The Pretty Reckless, featuring Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl (we apologize), recently did an acoustic cover/mashup of “Islands” by The XX and “Love The Way You Lie” by Rihanna at Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Hear the mp3 now. Yup…
  • Last weekend at the Greenman Festival in the UK, The Tallest Man On Earth collaborated with Megafaun to cover “Everything is Free” by Gillian Welch. Watch the video from the performance below.

  • Jeff Tweedy from Wilco has been actively working with and producing gospel singer Mavis Staples this summer. The two have just released a video cover of “Wrote A Song For Everyone” by Creedence Clearwater Revival:
