Out This Week 8/31

Sure, it’s a bit of a slower week this time around, but that shouldn’t keep you from braving the cold rain to pick up this week’s new releases at your favorite record shop. Otherwise, you’d miss the latest from Bobby Bare Jr., a long time friend of KEXP and frequent guest. In fact, Bobby Bare Jr. will join KEXP during for broadcast from the Doug Fir during Musicfest NW. Another recent guest, Neon Indian, is releasing a newly mastered version of Psychic Chasms, which includes a nine-song bonus in the form of Mind Cntrl: Psychic Chasms Possessed. Not willing to play second fiddle (sometimes literally), My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel and Radiohead drummer Philip Selway both have excellent new solo debuts. Other worthwhile releases come from moody Brit-pop band The Clientele and San Francisco based upstarts Sonny and the Sunsets . And for the kids or the kid in you: Yo Gabba Gabba! Music Is Awesome!
