If you were tuned into the Midday Show with Cheryl Waters at noon today, you heard the brand new project Fistful of Mercy, featuring an all-star cast of Dhani Harrison, Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. The three only just made their presence know through Facebook, Twitter and their barebones website — but, wow, have they made an impact already! Recently, they’ve appeared on just a couple of FM and satellite radio stations (KEXP being one!), landed on Larry King Live, and joined Pearl Jam and others for the “Voices for Justice” rally for the West Memphis 3 at Robinson Center in Little Rock.
In-studio at KEXP, Dhani, Ben and Joe were joined by Jessy Greene on violin for an amazing set of five new songs. You’d hardly believe that this was only their third live performance given their intricate blend of vocal and guitar harmonies. Truly beautiful! Check out two of them here and check back for the rest of the set later:

Heard them at the “Voices for Justice” rally in Little Rock on Saturday. They are amazing. Such beautiful melody! Thanks for your support.
Really excited after seeing this for the CD and to hear the rest of the tracks. Its really fresh and has a genuine feel to it. Its new music to get excited about…
One fistful to the Heart, please?
Thank you very much.

This is so damn good!
It’s so reminiscent of early CSN. And it is wonderfull to see George Harrisons offspring doing so well as a musician, and as a man.
The “Apple” did not fall far from the tree…
Loved it, felt it! Wish I had caught it truly “live” but I got it an hour or so later. Missed Dhani at the Palooza too damn-it! Next year… :~D. Keep it up Mercy!
thanks F. O. M. for the show last Thursday it was really cool meeting you all. its not to often that you meet rock stars that are so down to earth and just plain nice looking forward to the R7 show this weekend I’m going on Sunday hopefully they end it with a bang. Burn One Down Ben!
How great to see this – very new and great news!
Joseph Arthur is permanently in my car for all driving trips (near or far), so pretty exciting to have this new venture to look forward to hearing.
Many Thnx – JQ (Chicago)
Wow. Melodic voices, incedible guitars and violin. Beautiful. Keep it up, Fistful of Mercy!
beautiful :)
Its what popular mainstream music needs, a Fistful of Mercy I may even turn back on my FM station.
Not only is this music so great and well done( for such few performances),but as one of those listeners this afternoon, I can tell you that the imagery you all conveyed with your expressive descriptiveness was astounding! Missed you at Easy Streets the other day but try not to miss the other performances. Thanks Guys!
amazing. fantastic. so many influences happening here. why no seattle show?? thanks for a great addition to my day.
They played an in-store set at Easy Street in West Seattle last Thursday, and they’ll be back to Seattle in October for an official tour.
Dommage que Seattle soit si loin!! On t’attend en France Ben, reviens vite t’es génial!!
These guys are great. I am looking forward to the CD. Can’t wait to see them on the East coast. I agree they are very reminiscent of CSN&Y. Thanks for posting this.
Merci pour tout ces moments de bonheur.
GREAT SONG!
D…. u forgot RED Snapper had a song RED SNAPPER :)
well done with the songs!
Wowee Wow Wow Wow.
If there was ever a music dream team…this is it!
Absolutely WONDERFUL!! They simeautaneously have elements that sound similar to CSN[&sometime Y] in their vocal harmonies and yet, Dhani sings & plays guitar very much like his pop. Bless you Boys!! ♥
funny, I also thought of the Thorns … a little too short-lived, they were. Matthew Sweet, Pete Droge, Shawn Mullins. The nearest thing to CSN since CSN. These guys gave me chills. Would love to hear them sing “In the Sun.”
WOW!!!! This is amazing! Thank you Ben, Joseph, and Dhani for a pasiionate colloboration! Hope you tour soon in the southeast US!!!!!
i love the message in fistful of mercy. we have away of saving our own lives. So beautifully written and performed.
In Vain Or True – breathtaking, moving experience. thank you. Percko
I cannot wait to see you live!
Where’s the rest of the set as promised?
Soon! The album comes out at the beginning of October. Some time around then!
Wow!!! Love this!!! You guys are awesome!! Hope they come to Florida so we can see them perform live!!!
My brother of Emule, Joel Davies has just passed away in Paradise, CA and the timing of this beautiful music being provided beside of such a serious loss is far beyond amazing! I believe Ben Harper may well understand, because it is heavy… Lay your burden down! I have ordered the bundle and will play it in memory of my dear friend. Thank you!
Good work fellows! Dhani, Ben, Joeseph. You guys ROCK! A breath of fresh air in this dismal cesspool of corporate entertainment!! I wish you well. Peace n Love: Phillip.
Their music is so wonderful. Love listening to it in my car..daily..Hope to see them soon when they come east on a tour..
What a beautiful music !!!!!!!!
