The Tallest Man on Earth, aka Kristian Matsson (yes, he’s from Sweden), has established himself as one of the best straight-up singer/sonwriters touring today. This year he’s followed up his stellar debut album Shallow Grave with The Wild Hunt, which has received just as much acclaim and confirmed that The Tallest Man is the Real Deal. His unique and easily distinctive voice is gravelly but full of optimism and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better lyricist and acoustic guitar player to match. He just played a show last night at Neumos in Seattle that my sources tell me was absolutely amazing and completely sold out, and fans at the MFNW should make sure they get out early to see him when he plays Doug Fir tonight, especially since his session live on KEXP this afternoon was already at capacity!
