Each and every Friday we offer songs by local artists. Today’s selection, featured on the Morning Show with John Richards, is “The Show Must Not Go On,” a previously unreleased song by Harvey Danger.
You may remember today’s song if you were at the final Harvey Danger show last August. In celebration of the first anniversary of the end of an era, these fine fellas offer up the final song they ever wrote and recorded; and it was also the final song they played. “The Show Must Not Go On” is obviously about breaking up, but like their breakup (which was amicable), the song is rather upbeat despite the subject. The band wanted to share it with KEXP to thank listeners and DJs for their support over the years and so it wouldn’t get lost in history. I guess in this way, the show will go on.
