Indie duo Dean & Britta have been part of the pop lexicon long before they were members of the highly influential slowcore band Luna. Dean Wareham founded Galaxie 500 and Britta Phillips stared in the 1988 film Satisfaction with Justine Bateman and voiced the 80’s iconic pink cartoon rocker JEM. They continue this trend with recent appearances on the wildly popular children’s series Yo Gabba Gabba and recently released a compilation of music they scored for Andy Warhol’s screen tests that were commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum. They have been performing music from the project 13 Most Beautiful... Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests as a multimedia tour de force.
At the Ace Hotel, as part of KEXP’s broadcast from CMJ, sponsored by Toyota’s Free Yr Radio, the duo brought the full band for a set of songs from 13 Most Beautiful... and the legendary Galaxie 500.
