  • Help Make Doc of NW Treasure Jini Dellaccio: The filmmakers behind the documentary of 93-year-old Jini Dellaccio, the Gig Harbor based photographer who shot The Sonics, The Wailers, and the proto-punk bands emerging from the industrial areas around Seattle, as well as international artists like The Who, Neil Young, and The Yardbirds, are now looking for support to continue their work.   • New Atlas Sound Christmas Song: Bradford Cox has released five versions of a new Atlas Sound Christmas song entitled “Artificial Snow” (Get it here). We’re particularly interested in the “Campfire Metallophone Version”.
  • Rumors of new Blur record: Multiple UK sources are reporting that Blur is headed back to the studio to record a new album to hopefully be released in 2011. We’ve heard these rumors before, but does this one stand up?  (via Chromewaves)
  • Download new Bright Eyes song: Anticipating the February release of Conor Oberst’s newest, The People’s Key, Saddle Creek is offering the first single, “Shell Games,” for free. Just give ‘em your email here:
  • Kurt Vile announces new album: Kurt Vile has announced that he will release a new long-player on March 7 via Matador. Smoke Ring For My Halo was recorded by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.) throughout 2010 at various studios in NYC and is the follow-up to this years Square Shells EP.   • First Pigeons, Now Fire… Kings of Leon cancel another show: Facing more touring troubles, the Tennessee family band had to postpone their sold-out London show at O2 Arena on Tuesday when two of their tour buses caught fire. More here.
  • Nordic Music Prize longlist revealed: Similar to the Mercury and Polaris Prizes, the Nordic Music Prize will award a prize for the best Nordic album of the year for a number of different Nordic countries. As expected, there are some amazing bands on the list. Check out the full list here.
