“High and Unhinged”: at least one of those things was true when Les Savy Fav finished this song to end their in-studio performance at KEXP. Our lighting track was barely hanging on the ceiling after singer Tim Harrington found a cordless drill someone had left in the studio. As they band continued to play -- Seth Jabour and Andrew Reuland on guitar, Syd Butler on bass, and Harrison Haynes on drums -- Harrington unscrewed anything he could find that appeared bolted down. “Root for Ruin” indeed! And before that mayhem, KEXP listeners rooted on as the band performed two other songs from the new album to a bit less craziness but no less musical artistry.
