The title of Belleruche‘s 2007 debut says it all: Turntable Soul Music. The British trio of vocalist Kathrin deBoer, guitarist Ricky Fabulous and DJ Modest merge traditional blues, soulful lyrics and funky beats into a captivating mix. Their most recent album, 270 Stories, ups the ante by rocking just a little harder and grooving just a little bit more, as on the the heavier “grunge” influenced “Fuzz Face” and the slinky seduction of “Clockwatching.” Recently, Belleruche stopped by KEXP to share songs from new album.
