Seattle native turned Nashville rocker Shane Tutmarc summoned his old Emerald City cronies for a set at the KEXP studios. His music has graced the local scene and airwaves for a while now, dating back to his fronting the harmony-rich indie-pop outfit Dolour and then as he changed directions to a twangier act with the Traveling Mercenaries, and then going solo and making his way down to Tennessee. Channeling pre-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Wilco and borrowing from more classic country-rock acts, Shane Tutmarc creates a blend of ballads and darker-toned alt-country tunes, adding his own twist. His latest effort, the So Hard to Make a Decent Getaway EP, is still fresh from its December release. After you check out these videos, be sure to stop by his website to hear and learn more.
