AURELIO with Garifuna Soul @ The Triple Door
KEXP’s Best Ambiance DJ Jon Kertzer released the first record on his new label and Sub Pop imprint Next Ambiance last year in Bassekou Kouyate’s I Speak Fula. The label’s next release will come from Aurelio Martinez, who in addition to being one of “the most exception Garifuna artists of his generation,” is also the first black man to become a deputy in the Honduran Congress. Garifuna is a combination of Latin and African acoustic roots music and you can hear a sampling for yourself when Aurelio stops by to play on KEXP today at 1:00 PM. (7:30 pm, $20 adv / $23 dos, all ages)

THE CROCODILES with Flexions, Dirty Beaches @ The Crocodile
The last time the Crocodiles were in Seattle was to open for fellow San Diego band Dum Dum Girls at the High Dive. This time around they have a new album out in Sleep Forever, and it’s clear after one listen to the amazing title track, which was recently KEXP’s Song of the Day, that the Crocodiles certainly deserve to be headlining. Fortunately, the venue got it right. And if you can’t make the show on Wednesday or just want some more, they’ll be playing live on KEXP the next day (Thursday) at noon. (8 pm, $10 adv, 21+)
