  • Lollapalooza Chile Line-up Announced: Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival will being making its way to South America for the first time ever. The festival will be taking place at Santiago’s O’Higgins Park, April 2-3. Headliners include Kanye West, Jane’s Addiction, The Flaming Lips, and many many more. If you’ve never been to Chile, here’s an amazing excuse to get down there. Check out the full line-up here.   • Developer of the First Synthesizer, Milton Babbitt, Dies at 94: The award winning avant-garde composer Milton Babbitt died Saturday at age 94. Back in the 1950s, Babbitt worked with RCA to develop the first synthesizer, which he used in many of his complex compositions. His ideas were so far ahead of their time that it took 46 years for Princeton to recognize his doctoral dissertation, which they had rejected in 1946 because “it couldn’t be properly evaluated.” Read more about Babbit here.   • Neutral Milk Hotel’s Magnum Plots More Shows: After years out of the spotlight, Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum has been on a steady return over the past year. Just yesterday, he announced two more shows as part of the Portishead-curated ATP I’ll Be Your Mirror Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey. More shows are to reportedly in the future. (via Pitchfork)

  • Kids Chorus Sings Ariel Pink: The kids in Staten Island’s P.S. 22 Chorus have been in the spotlight before with cute covers of Phoenix’s “Lisztomania” and MGMT’s “Kids”.
