Sand and surf-friendly Tennis stopped by our station recently. Tennis is a new group on the indie scene. And like any good indie band, their origins are completely telling in their music. The idea of a band wasn’t fully realized, until after the Colorado-based couple went for an extended sailboat excursion along the East Coast. After their nautical journey came to a close, the two felt compelled to write songs about their experiences. The husband and wife led group are currently touring for the release of their debut self-titled album Tennis on Fat Possum records.
Their entire in-studio performance with Stevie Zoom can be found below. Fans of the group may even spot an unreleased track among them!

awww, this was a great interview and session. i could have seen them perform the whole album. :) too funny she says she wants to sail to cuba next. i was waiting for a political debate. lol! but that response endears me to them. they recognize when it is time to regain your creativity, stop touring for awhile and set about doing it again instead of burning out and then trying to get that same feeling back. this was really, really nice.
totally gorgeous sunshiny goodness! thank you boat-fuls for sharing :*))
That live version of Cape Dory is so much more kick ass than the record.
