Just in time for their Sasquatch! headlining spot, longtime Seattle favorites Death Cab for Cutie have announced their follow-up to 2008′s acclaimed Narrow Stairs on their website. The new one is called Codes and Keys, slated for release May 31st via Atlantic. In a BBC Radio interview, guitarist Chris Walla revealed that the album was mixed by none other than My Bloody Valentine producer Alan Moulder, and that Ben Gibbard’s previous comments that the record would feature “less guitars and more synths” are more or less accurate. The focus has shifted from guitar strumming to synths and reverb, but the guitars aren’t totally gone - they just take a backseat this go-around. According to Walla, the album will be 11-12 tracks, and the lead single is called “You Are A Tourist.”

That should be Alan Moulder, right?
