This past Saturday, February 19, KEXP’s metal show Seek & Destroy took over the Sunset Tavern here in Seattle. Aside from a loyal flock of headbangers, hosts Hannah Levin and Tanner Ellison brought destruction with local act The Absolute Monarchs!, Argonaut and Red Fang.
Hailed as a band to watch by Seattle Weekly, The Absolute Monarchs! are a post punk/metal group jettisoned for pure rock glory, and they kick-started the showcase. Soon after, the crowd got a chance to pump their fists to a reunited Argonaut. Portland-based Red Fang, who are set to release their second album this spring, finished the night off strong.
Didn’t get a chance to make it out, or perhaps just too afraid to get out there for a good old fashioned face melt? Well, shame on you! I guess you’ll just have to feast your eyes on these amazing photos instead. And yes, that is Hannah rockin’ the Eddie mask.

Good times, and Murder The Mountains will be Red Fang’s SECOND release, not debut.
