Sonic Roundup 3/2

  • Visions of the future cloud memories of the past in the ethereal new clip from Keep Shelly in Athens. Jamie Harley crafts a musty dreamscape of a video for new single “Hauntin’ Me.” The downtempo poptronic gem is out now on a 7″ single via Transparent. Watch below:

  • Beloved electropop quartet Ladytron are releasing a career retrospective entitled Best of Ladytron: 00-10, due out March 29 via Nettwerk. Bundled with the two-disc album is new single “Ace of Hz.” Watch the accompanying video below, wherein the band poses in an indoor forested wonderland.

  • Nathan Williams’ divisive band Wavves has a new video for the title track from last year’s King of the Beach, directed by Focus Creeps. The clip follows the twenty-somethings as they do what twenty-somethings are wont to do (video games, weed, food), culminating in a (surprise!) trip to the beach.

  • Minimal masterminds The xx get the cover treatment by 90′s house revivalists Hercules & Love Affair, and it couldn’t be a more snug fit. The negative space of “Shelter” is filled by the group’s signature synth-grooves, and Romy’s emotive vocals are replaced by Kim Ann Foxman’s measured cool. Listen to the hot new track below:
