As promised, here’s more live performances from our 2011 SXSW broadcast from Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop. Old school-styled singer and Daptone artist Charles Bradley kicked off the second day with an inspired set of hip-jerking, heart-rending, full-on soul as good as his idol, James Brown. Next up, 80′s heartthrobs OMD prove they haven’t missed a beat over the years as their new songs sounded just as good as their classic favorites. Austin’s own The Black Angels stripped down their psych rock sound, a little bit at least, for a special performance for a packed room of fans. And U.K. trio The Joy Formidable absolute tore it up with their wild-eyed frenetic full on rock explosion. Damn! Check out the videos here and stay tuned for even more to come!

Love the Black Angels - great vid from SXSW, going to see them in Dallas in May (for the 3rd time, lol).
