El Ten Eleven are one of those groups that you just have to see to really believe. Bandmates Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty are constantly doing double, triple and maybe even quadruple duty creating the complex structures that we hear as songs. Through looping pedals, various guitar and bass combos, and drums, the Los Angeles-based duo make a sound far bigger than the sum of their parts — and it’s all constructed live! No pre-programed beats or melodies here! Fans of all kinds will groove to El Ten Eleven’s instrumental jams, but obsessive music-heads will want to pour over the videos of their recent performance live on KEXP with Morning Show host John Richards in order to find just how they do it.
