Irish punk outfit Flogging Molly‘s live shows never lack for energy, which is impressive considering the band’s entering their 14th year of rocking. Sasquatch! 2011 was no different when the band took the main stage, playing a mixture of songs both old and new, all received with joyous yells from the crowd. Despite the slightly overcast weather, 49-year old Dave King led the crowd in spirited mass singalongs and jigs that turned the Gorge into an unruly dance party. The only thing missing was a Guinness in the hand of each concertgoer, but given festival pricing, that probably would’ve been more than it’s worth. As always, the standouts were the songs everyone knew (mostly from 2000’s Swagger and 2002’s Drunken Lullabies), but the band did play some new hits from their 2011 record Speed of Darkness, which sounded practiced and appropriately chaotic.
