“Al Kway-da” operatives, they ain’t; nevertheless, Black Lips narrowly escaped invasive probing at the Canadian border to just barely make it in time for their in-studio at KEXP. The Atlanta-based band is notorious for their on-stage antics, but no amount of bodily fluid expulsion can hide the fact that Black Lips write some damn catchy songs. Their latest, and sixth, album, Arabia Mountain, finds the guys -- Cole Alexander (guitar), Jared Swilley (bass), Ian Saint Pé (guitar), and Joe Bradley (drums) -- cleaning up their sound a bit but certainly not their act!
