The Seattle summer came just in time for the Capitol Hill Block Party. On Friday and Saturday we were finally blessed with the idyllic weather we’ve been waiting for all month, and Sunday looks to be no different; the temperature is once-again pleasantly warm and there doesn’t even seem to be a wisp of a cloud in the sky. While it’ll be another amazing day to roam up and down Pike Street people-watching, beer-drinking, and seeing as much live music as possible, the lineup of artists performing live on KEXP from inside the Caffe Vita Bean Room might be reason enough to duck out of the perfect weather for a while in favor of some more intimate performances and the overpowering aroma of coffee beans. Kicking things off at 1:00 PM will be The Posies, followed by The Cave Singers at 3:00. As we head into the evening, punk-y blues rock duo My Goodness will play at 5:00 PM, followed by the day rounding out with a little hip hop: Kung Foo Grip and Brothers From Another will be playing live on Street Sounds at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, respectively. If you can’t make it to the Bean Room to catch any of the performances live, remember that they will all be broadcast live on KEXP. And if you do plan on coming by make sure you get here early, because space is limited!
