Live Video: Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter

We’ve been featuring Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter quite a bit this week -- first as a top highlight in our Out This Week feature and then as a Song of the Day podcast -- but all this attention is for good reason: Marble Son, the band’s first release in four years, is a leap forward. Principal songwriters Jesse Sykes and Phil Wandscher have channeled recent turmoil in their lives (notably, the pair’s split as a couple) into a more robust sound. On the day before the album’s release, this past Monday, Jesse and Phil, along with bassist Bill Herzog and drummer Eric Eagle, stopped by the Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole.
