This week’s Song of the Day podcasts

I was tagged to pick out this week’s podcast songs of the day and couldn’t be happier with the choices heading your way. The deep dark catchy AM & Shawn Lee is up there with some of my favorite songs of the year. Dig into how they recorded it, it’s fascinating how they never saw one another, a bit like doing a radio show I suppose. If you’re not familiar with The Ettes, they are one of the coolest and bad ass trios out there, not to mention three of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Yes, you can be nice and bad ass, but only if you’re the Ettes. Zola Jesus‘ new one falls somewhere between Siouxie and the Banshees and Nine Inch Nails and that’s a good place to fall. Active Child continues to impress with a lovely collaboration with How to Dress Well, and out of Seattle comes The Fascination Movement, a band I’ve been following for a few years and who’s name aptly describes the sound.
