It’s hard to believe that the 2011 Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival is just around the corner, on September 3-5! Every Labor Day weekend, Seattle gets to enjoy a wide variety of food, theater, comedy and art, all across Seattle Center.

Bumbershoot also features over 40 musical acts per day, and on my latest Music That Matters podcast, I feature some of the artists I’m most excited to see, including School of Seven Bells, Little Dragon, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. I’ve also got some rare, live performances on this podcast from Fitz & the Tantrums, Sharon Van Etten, and a reading plus song from Kristin Hersh, who will be doing a similar performance at Bumbershoot this year.

And, KEXP will be broadcasting on the Seattle Center grounds once again from the Bumbershoot Music Lounge, and my latest podcast spotlights several of the artists who’ll be performing live from our “secret stage,” including Shabazz Palaces, Charles Bradley, Vetiver, Mad Rad, and more.

So, check out Music That Matters, Vol. 265 – Bumbershoot 2011 Preview and I’ll see you at Bumbershoot!
