Live Video: Okkervil River @ Neptune Theater, KEXP VIP Club Concert

Membership has its rewards, and KEXP is no different. Those donors who contributed $500 or more during the KEXP pledge drive are awarded membership to the KEXP VIP Concert Series, where a select number of KEXP members and staff are invited to attend special, intimate concerts with a number of great bands. In the past, such artists have included Interpol, Sufjan Stevens, Bob Mould, Nada Surf, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, My Morning Jacket, Peter Bjorn and John, Stars, DeVotchKa, and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.

In June, Okkervil River played a passionate set at the historic Neptune Theater to KEXP’s VIP Club, chock-full of new hits from the band’s 2011 album, I Am Very Far. KEXP was privileged enough to capture video of the one-of-a-kind performance, to give prospective members and anxious fans a glimpse into the benefits of supporting KEXP. Catch Will Scheff’s signature croon and the band’s rollicking riffs below.
