It’s been a busy past couple weeks, with Bumbershoot in Seattle and MusicfestNW in Portland, we’ve had bands of all sorts playing up here in our little corner of the world lately, and scattered all over the Northwest. This week is no time to rest: On Monday, we’ve got Thievery Corporation at the Moore, Tuesday is a fantastic night out for music, with Blitzen Trapper playing a free in-store at Easy Street in Queen Anne and probably the biggest show of the week, Band of Horses at the Paramount. There are also a couple cool local CD release shows this week: Anomie Belle at Neumo’s on Wednesday and Cataldo at the Crocodile on Thursday. Both of these bills have some great bands playing alongside, so go support some local talent. Friday has Redwood Plan at the Comet, Low is at Neumo’s, and the “Bourbon & Broads” event, featuring Sera Cahoone, Betsy Olson, and others, is at the Neptune. Saturday has some of the best variety of the week, starting with Viper Creek Club at the always lovely Columbia City Theatre, Redhook’s 30th Birthday Bash is going on in Woodinville with Devo and The Psychedelic Furs, Blue Scholars and The Physics are at the Showbox, and one of the best local bills of the week has got to be Hobosexual and Absolute Monarchs at the Comet. Sunday ends peacefully with The Album Leaf at the Crocodile. Here’s the full schedule for the week:

Definitely the baddest ass local show of the week. Both Hobosexual and Absolute Monarchs like it loud and the Comet is a nice place to accomodate. We’re not sure about something called a Shit Machine, but this is a show you should check out if you feel like rocking out this weekend.

*The Album Leaf, Sister Crayon at Crocodile (info)
Can you believe this band has already been around for 10 years? A nice relaxing way to close out the week for sure and another band with new material to show off (A Chorus of Storytellers).
