- A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that the new James Blake song “Fall Creek Boys Choir,” a collaboration with Bon Iver, would appear on a new six-track EP called Enough Thunder. Now, you can hear another track from the EP called “Not Long Now,” thanks to Consequence of Sound and BBC Radio:
- Also anticipating her new album, Ceremonial, Florence + The Machine has just released the new single, “Shake It Out.” Stream it here
- Neon Indian’s sophomore LP Era Extraña has just been released, and coinciding with the record’s drop is the premiere of a new clip for album cut “Polish Girl,” directed by Tim Nackashi. The video’s a retro-futurist romance with dystopian overtones. Check it out below.
- Noisy surf-punker Wavves has a new track from his Life Sux EP out to stream, this time featuring guest contributors Fucked Up. The song’s called “Destroy,” and it’s a rip-roaring three-and-a-quarter minute romp that’s as pop as it is thrash. Listen over at Pitchfork.
- Speaking of punkers, Black Lips were recently joined onstage by Joey Ramone - or rather, a very cleverly disguised Bradford Cox (Deerhunter, Atlas Sound). Cox donned the long hair and black leather and led the band through a rendition of the Ramones’ cover of Bobby Freeman’s 1958 classic “Do You Wanna Dance.” Watch:
- Garage rock duo Japandroids have been hiding under the radar for a while, but the Bryan Street Tavern in Dallas, Texas saw the debut of a new song called “Adrenaline Nightshift.” Check out the pair in riotous form below.
