While tonight’s special benefit concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind at EMP may be sold out, you can still experience it for yourself online through a live video stream. In fact, you can watch the performance right here at 10PM PST tonight, September 20, as local bands including The Long Winters, Visqueen, The Presidents of the United States of America, Krist Novoselic, The Fastbacks, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Campfire OK, Champagne Champagne, Ravenna Woods, Vendetta Red, and many others perform the entire album.
You can also watch it on Nirvana’s Facebook page and at Livestream.
The purpose of the show is not only to celebrate the album’s release but also to help long-time Seattle music industry maven Susie Tennant, who was the local rep for DGC Records when the album came out and who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Funds raised go toward medical expenses and family support throughout Susie’s extended cancer treatment. You can make your own donation to the Susie Tennant Fund here or by mailing to this address:

Whoever set up the streaming audio mix should be flogged. I can only hope the people there can hear the guitars and the entire drum kit.
