Live Video: Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner

It wasn’t just the haircut, and it wasn’t the reverb. Alex Turner sounded stunning while channeling a 50’s vibe during his recent performance live on KEXP. A rebel with a guitar, dressed in black leather like a character in his band’s own video, the Arctic Monkeys frontman play three acoustic versions of songs from the new album, Suck It and See, and chatted with Afternoon Show host Kevin Cole about MOJO love, “Pfthriller” as a working title, the future of The Last Shadow Puppets, and much more. Check out the videos and the entire performance here:

One of the best interviews! Cole knew about the band and Alex seemed more relaxed than usual…kind of wish the interviewer asked him about that, because Alex is coming alive on stage, like he’s actually enjoying himself. Thanks for this, and the acoustic versions are heavenly of course. He does have a wonderful voice!

Wow just wow. Love his voice…I love how he has transformed as an artist….and I mean this in every way possible from his lyrics to his personal style. I have seen him in countless interviews and you could tell he doesn’t really love talking to the press. Bu in this interview he actually shares a little more partly because Kevin Cole asked smart educated questions. Alex has a haunting voice. I hope he continues to put out great music, if not I will go through serious withdrawals.
