Live Around Town This Week

Of course all the talk this week will be about the second annual Heineken City Arts Festival. This year, the three-day fest will take place October 20-22, featuring headlining acts Ryan AdamsRobynBuilt to SpillCrystal Castles, and Ozomatli playing at various venues around town. Additional artists include  Shabazz Palaces, Campfire OK, The Fucking Eagles, Grand Hallway, The Helio Sequence, The Long Winters, Man Man, Mad Rad, Mudhoney, Pickwick, Seapony, Tea Cozies, The Cops, Thee Emergency, Unnatural Helpers, USF, Yuni in Taxco, and many more. Head to the City Arts website for the full lineup and venue announcements. In addition to City Arts starting on Thursday, we’ve got a few other choices as well. On Wednesday, Friendly Fires get the dance party started at the Neptune and on Saturday, there’s a colossal show at Key Arena with Death Cab For Cutie and The Head & The Heart. On Sunday, John Doe plays a free show at Easy Street Records (and later at the Tractor), and Portishead plays at the Wamu. Here’s the full schedule for the week:
