Live Around Town This Week

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah from our recent broadcast during CMJ

Autumn is finally here in the Northwest and that means it’s a little “seasonal” outside when the sun goes down (an hour earlier now too). Not to worry, there’s a host of great things going on inside to keep you warm every night this week. New Jersey natives Real Estate kick things off on Monday night at the Crocodile, Sun Kill Moon/Red House Painters frontman Mark Kozelek brings his solo act to the Neptune, and Deer Tick plays their unique mix of indie-folk/country/blues in the ideal setting of the Tractor. On Tuesday, you’ll have a hard time deciding between Shonen Knife at the Tractor, Mike Doughty at Neumo’s, or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, our recent guests at the Ace Hotel NYC during our broadcast at CMJ -- now in Seattle at the Neptune. On Wednesday, They Might Be Giants are at the Showbox SoDo, there’s a really cool show at the Crocodile with Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Gauntlet Hair, and Das Racist is at Neumos. All this and we haven’t even gotten to the weekend yet! On Thursday, you can relax to the smooth sounds of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings at Showbox at the Market. The weekend starts on Friday night with Blitzen Trapper at the Neptune, Minus The Bear at Showbox at the Market, and a highly recommended show with Wild Flag and Drew Grow and The Pastors’ Wives at Neumos. On Saturday we’ve got DJ’s, Benefits, and Films galore, Future Islands at Vera, and Hey Marseilles at the Neptune. And for a grand finish - you’d be a fool to miss M83 and Active Child on Sunday night at Neumos, arguably one of the best shows of the week! Here’s the full schedule for the week:
