Sonic Roundup 11/9

  • Vaudeville rocker Tom Waits made headlines earlier this year with the announcement of his seventeenth studio album Bad As Me, which was released last month, on October 21st. It’s Waits’ first album of entirely new material since 2004′s Real Gone, and has since received an aggregate score of 89/100 from Metacritic. Now, catch a new music video for album cut “Satisfied,” directed by none other than Jesse Dylan, son of Bob. Previous directing credits include Method Man and Redman’s cinematic opus How High. Catch the high-contrast, black-and-white, bare-bones video of Waits losing his mind below.

  • The baffling Lou Reed / Metallica collaboration continues to cause fans from both camps to scratch their heads in confusion, and now you can witness the completely surreal experience for yourself. Following the release of their joint album Lulu, the guys recently took to British television program Later... with Jools Holland to perform album cut “Iced Honey.” Watch below, if you think you’re brave enough.

  • Earlier in the week KEXP pointed out that San Francisco rockers Girls had a new single forthcoming, entitled “Lawrence” and dedicated to the frontman from British group Felt. Now you can sneak a peek at the track before its December 6th release date right here:

  • St. Vincent is touring in support of her latest, Strange Mercy, and recently stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. But instead of performing an album cut, she instead plays a cover of “She Is Beyond Good And Evil,” by The Pop Group. Watch:

  • Feist‘s new record Metals dropped last month, and now the singer/songwriter’s performance at the CBC’s 75th Anniversary Show has finally surfaced. Catch Feist performing album cut “Cicadas & Gulls” with Grizzly Bear frontman Ed Droste now:
