The Globes formed in Spokane in their teenage years, before relocating to Seattle in 2007 to pursue their musical efforts more seriously. Following a pair of EPs, the band toured up and down the West Coast, catching the eye of fans and critics alike, before announcing their debut album, Future Self, earlier this year. Produced by John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, Death Cab for Cutie, Sleater-Kinney), the album is a nonstop tour de force of progressive rock n’ roll jams that have a cinematic post-rock edge. This past May, the band came into the KEXP studios for a live performance that rattled our walls, featuring hits from Future Self. Watch the session now:

These guys are amazing live, saw them at Sasquatch and also at a free show at Nectar and they rule every time. One of my favorite almost local bands!
Oh wait relocated to Seattle, I missed that, I take back the “almost,” make it one of my favorite local bands.
