Every Monday through Friday, we deliver a different song as part our Song of the Day podcast subscription. This podcast features exclusive KEXP in-studio performances, unreleased songs, and recordings from independent artists that our DJs think you should hear. This Thanksgiving week, KEXP is extending a hearty “thanks” to all of the local bands who’ve performed live at the our studios this year with a few of our favorites. Today’s selection, which aired live on the Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole on July 20, is “Can’t Hold Us (featuring Ray Dalton)” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, released as a new single.
Continuing the week with some of our favorite in-studios with local performers this year is another one of KEXP’s favorite hip-hop/rap duos, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Consisting of local emcee Macklemore (aka Ben Haggerty) and long time friend/DJ/Producer Ryan Lewis, this group is no stranger to Seattle and to the KEXP studios. During their session on July 20 -- their third of the year! -- they introduced a brand new song called “Can’t Hold Us” featuring the debut of young local singer named Ray Dalton for a mind-blowing performance.
