Live Around Town This Week

Did everyone survive Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping last week? We certainly hope so because there’s plenty to do this week as we head into even more holidays in the busy December holiday schedule. We appropriately kick off Cyber Monday at Chop Suey with a fantastic electronic duo you need to check out: Africa Hitech. On Tuesday, things start getting busy with the Sex Positive: Planned Parenthood Benefitwith no less than 14 performers at Neumo’s (including RA Scion and Star Anna). Jane Birkin is also performing a tribute to Serge Gainsbourge at the Neptune and Thee Oh Sees perform across town at the Crocodile. On Wednesday, The National play the first of two nights at the Neptune Theatre with Local Natives and Wye Oak. Same goes for Thursday with the addition of LA funksters Orgone at Neumo’s, and the first of four nights with the amazing Chick Corea Trio at Jazz Alley. Looking for a good night to check out some local rock & roll? Look no further than the Noise For The Needy Benefit with Absolute Monarchs, Brokaw, Monogamy Party, and Cold Lake at the Comet Tavern. There are also a ton of other choices on Friday, including Blind Pilot and Point Juncture WA at Neptune, The Cute Lepers at Sunset,  The Cave Singers at Neumo’s, The Sea and Cake at Crocodile, and Whalebones at Chop Suey. If your head isn’t dizzy by the weekend, there are a few more shows to round out the week. On Saturday, we have a KEXP Audioasis showcase to benefit Camp Ten Trees at the Sunset (including The Annunaki, Pony Time, Jordan Cook), The Young Fresh Fellows and The Tripwires at Triple Door, Hobosexual at Rendezvous, and Ha Ha Tonka, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, and Black Whales at Tractor. Need something for Sunday? Dan Deacon and USF are at the Neptune. Here’s the rest of the schedule for the week:
