A long time friend of KEXP, Joseph Arthur has been one of our most frequent guests live in our studio since he first performed here for his acclaimed 2002 album, Redemption’s Son. Over the years, he’s performed with one of his other groups, Fistful of Mercy, and for several KEXP benefits, including one of our annual KEXP BBQ concerts and an exclusive Triple Door show for KEXP members. Needless to say, we just can’t get enough of him. Thankfully, this archetypal fount of creativity never disappoints with each new album, and this year’s LP, The Graduation Ceremony, is likely to land on many listeners’ Top 10 lists of 2011. (Tune in this Friday, December 30, for KEXP’s Top 90.3 Albums of 2011 to find out!) Recently, Joe dropped by our studio to talk with Midday host Cheryl Waters and perform a few new songs, including a sneak peek at his next project, The Ballad of Boogie Christ.
