Seattle-based quartet Stephanie have been making waves with a few choice tracks uploaded to their Bandcamp for free, and a short album for GGNZLA. Combine that with captivating live performances, and you’ve got the recipe for an underground sensation. The band’s lo-fi pop hooks and Casio synth riffs are mixed with soulful vocals, calling to mind peers like Braids. The youth movement in music has always been strong, but rarely have they been this gloriously weird. 80s post-punk rhythms and rough production only accentuate the group’s innate uniqueness. KEXP was pleased to invite the young’uns over to our studios for a fantastic live in-studio.
