Live Around Town This Week

A great week for shows in the Northwest, and most notably great local talent big and small. We skip Monday this week and go ahead and start on Tuesday (tell your work KEXP said it was OK) with a great local show at Neumos starring Stephanie, Flexions, Erik Blood, and OC Notes as well as a lovely night at the Triple Door with the talented singer/songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello. You want more, you say? You’ll have to wait until Thursday to get your real show fix with local heavy band Sandrider playing a kick ass show with Brokaw and Lesbian at the Comet (bring earplugs!). Across town, Blouse and Seapony are at the Sunset. Sports and The Fascination Movement are at Chop Suey, and Motopony are at Neumos. Friday kicks off our weekend with Kinski at Chop Suey; however, Saturday and Sunday share one of the highlights of the week, the awesomely talented Allen Stone playing two soulful nights at Neptune Theater with the Seattle Rock Orchestra. If for some crazy reason that’s not your thing, The Fucking Eagles are causing a ruckus at the Funhouse, while The Young Evils and Land Of Pines are stirring it up at Chop Suey, Fu Manchu and Helms Alee are destroying things at El Corazon, and Gold Leaves are playing a (hopefully) much more mellow set at the Tractor. On Sunday, there’s the annual MLK Unity Dance Party at Neumo’s with DJ Riz, DJ Kid Hops, andMasa. There’s truly something for everyone this week. Here’s the full schedule for the days ahead:

Would love to hear KEXP get Meshell to do an interview/set on KEXP live someday...
