North Carolina’s premier indie-folk quartet The Rosebuds have accumulated quite the repertoire since their conception in 2001. The talented multi-instrumentalists signed to Merge in late 2003 and have released five albums since, including last year’s Loud Planes Fly Low, which was met with strong critical acclaim. Fans of Bon Iver and Other Lives may recognize the band as openers for the aforementioned acts on recent tours, where they serenaded sold-out crowds with their addicting blend of indie pop, folk, and rock. A lot has changed for the band since their previous album, including the romantic split of principle songwriters Kelly Crisp and Ivan Howard, (read more about that here), but they’re committed to the band and found the time to stop by KEXP again while they were touring though Seattle for this live performance, every bit as tight and rock-solid as anyone could’ve expected.
