Review Revue: Pop Will Eat Itself – Cure for Sanity

I don’t have a lot to say about this one, except that I really loved this band as a teenager and still have a soft spot in my heart for them. It is pretty great to see that some of the crankiest music snobs on the planet (and I mean that with all love and respect) felt the same way.

I took this opportunity to see what the band has been up to, and it looks like they’re playing some dates in the UK very soon. Fingers crossed they decide to come across the pond some time this year.

“See my comments on CD.” [I looked on the CD and couldn’t find any comments. Sorry Dave (or Dane, or Dang…).]

“I really like this guy’s voice. Very pleasant to listen to, and lyrically nice – get down get funky – yeah yeah from the band out of England.”

“Hip hop lite. Humor in the house. Pop should eat itself and this group tries hard. More imaginative than the entire Wax Trax roster combined. However, the soccer anthem (7) is crap. Too bad some of the better cuts are red dots.”

“Red dots – 4, 8, 13, 14, 15
Beware – 1&2, 4&5, segue on disc
Note – Track 18 is unlisted remix of 4 – “X Y & Zee” non red dot”
