When we first heard Icelandic band Who Knew a few years ago, we fell in love. Their upbeat rock anthems and impassioned delivery reminded us of some of our favorite indie groups closer to home -- in fact, their similarity to Spencer Krug’s on Wolf Parade was hard to deny. But like all Icelandic bands we’ve encountered, they had a certain unique spin that made them uniquely, well... Icelandic. If you’re a fan of Wolf Parade, Arcade Fire, Yeasayer, or just catchy hooks with melodic, reverb-rich vocals, you’re definitely going to be into this session we recorded during our trip to Iceland during Airwaves ’11, where we were able to catch Who Knew performing live during an exclusive shindig at Hljóðriti Studio, one of the oldest and most highly regarded studios in the country (Björk recorded her self-titled debut there). Check out the videos from their performance now:

This band is an amazing discovery. I am from Montreal, Canada and you are my favorite radio station ever. Thanks for putting little stars in my ears all the time!
